45 Years of Kitchen Carpentry Excellence in Singapore:

HDB, BTO, & Condo Specialist

Most renovation firms in Singapore outsource their kitchen carpentry to third-party workshops. At Classic Furniture, we are the workshop.

Our founder began his carpentry apprenticeship in 1968 at 13. From that bench, Classic Furniture grew into one of Singapore’s longest-running custom kitchen specialists. Forty-five years on, more than 45,000 families have trusted us with their kitchens.

The model is straightforward. Our designers and carpenters share one in-house team. Every cabinet is fabricated in our Eunos factory and installed by the same people. We fit Blum hinges and runners across our standard kitchens, drawing on our partnership with the brand.

Why Choose Classic Furniture for Your Kitchen

Kitchen Carpentry Heritage Since 1968

Our founder began as a kitchen carpenter at 13, and we’ve never stopped being carpenters since. That trade depth still shapes every cabinet we draw, build, and install across HDB, BTO, condominium, and landed homes in Singapore.

Designed and Built Under One Roof

Most firms hand the kitchen drawing to an outside workshop, but we don’t. Our designers and carpenters share one in-house team, so what’s specified on paper is what gets built. View our custom kitchen build expertise for the full scope.

Blum Hardware Across Our Standard Kitchens

We fit Blum hinges, runners, and tandem drawer systems as standard across our kitchens, drawing on our partnership with the brand. Blum hardware is built for daily use and holds up well in Singapore’s humidity.

45,000 Singapore Kitchens Behind Us

More than 45,000 Singapore families have trusted us with their homes since 1980. Many return for their next kitchen, and some bring their parents’ recommendation with them. View our kitchen carpentry portfolio for a closer look.

Transparent Quotes and Updates

Every kitchen quote is itemised by piece, material, and hardware. From there, updates run through your dedicated designer, using the channel you’ve already been using together.

Our Kitchen Carpentry Process

Every kitchen we build follows the same five-step sequence. Here’s the fuller view of how we help you understand the full kitchen build journey from first conversation to handover.

Step 1: Site Measurement

We measure the space, understand how you cook, and map out your appliance plan. From there, we identify what’s possible within your budget and timeline.

Step 2: Custom Design and 3D Visualisation

Our in-house designers develop 2D layouts and 3D renders so you can see the kitchen before it’s built. Material samples and Blum hardware options come in at this stage.

Step 3: Itemised Quotation

You receive an itemised quote covering every piece by location, dimensions, material, and hardware. Labour, installation, and warranty terms each carry their own line, so there are no lump sums or hidden inclusions.

Step 4: Custom Build in Our Eunos Factory

Once approved, the cabinets move into our Eunos workshop. Our carpenters fabricate the carcasses, fit the Blum hardware, and run quality checks at each stage. Read more on our kitchen carpentry craftsmanship standards for how we work.

Step 5: Installation and Handover

Our own installers fit the kitchen on site, typically within a defined window. Before handover, we run a full quality check across every detail of the kitchen. If issues surface afterwards, our after-sales team is on hand for support. The kitchen also carries a one-year warranty.

Renovation Services by Property Type

Every property type comes with its own rules, constraints, and opportunities. We’ve spent over 45 years working across all of them in Singapore, from new BTOs to multi-level landed homes.

HDB Kitchen Carpentry

As a HDB kitchen carpentry specialist, we dedicate a bulk of our efforts on HDB and BTO kitchens. We know HDB hacking rules and approval timelines inside out. For example, a typical four-room HDB kitchen runs around four to six weeks from build to install.

Space optimisation is where we earn our keep, with floor-to-ceiling carcasses, hidden storage, and integrated appliance housing.

Condo Kitchen Carpentry

Condominium kitchen design and build services come with MCST schedules. You prepare the MCST documents and we fill in the kitchen details for your submission, so the work moves cleanly.

Additionally, premium finishes typically run higher here, with Blum hardware throughout and quality tiles or stone surfaces. Open-concept layouts, kitchen islands, and integrated appliances also feature often, especially in compact units where every centimetre earns its place.

Landed Property Kitchen Carpentry

Landed kitchens carry the most complexity and the most room to design. Larger footprints allow for custom islands, multiple work zones, and bespoke joinery, while older homes sometimes hide structural surprises. That’s why our in-house team opts to handle the chain end to end with our landed property custom kitchen solutions rather than passing it on.

Kitchen Cabinet Styles and Blum Hardware Options

Singapore’s climate is brutal on kitchens. Humidity sits high for most of the year, while air-conditioning cycles it back down. Cooking compounds both.

As such, we choose materials and hardware around this reality, rather than against it. Explore the full range of Blum hardware and custom cabinetry options available.

Materials That Hold Up in Singapore’s Climate

  • Plywood and blockboard carcasses: Stay dimensionally stable through Singapore’s humidity cycle, which keeps kitchen cabinets straight and doors aligned for years.
  • Laminate fronts: Resist moisture and daily wear, with a wide colour and texture range to suit HDB and condo budgets.

Blum Hardware We Fit as Standard

  • Soft-close hinges: Close cabinet doors quietly and cleanly every time, which extends the life of the door and the carcass.
  • Full-extension runners: Pull drawers all the way out, so the contents at the back stay as accessible as the contents at the front.
  • Tandem drawer systems: Carry heavy loads on ball-bearing slides, rated for daily use over decades without binding or sagging.

Note: Blum hardware carries its own manufacturer warranty from the brand, subject to terms and conditions.

Countertop Options

  • Cosentino and Caesarstone: Engineered for consistent colour and low maintenance, well-suited to the way Singapore kitchens cook and clean.
  • Laminate: Various budget-friendly options and finishes, such as Formica, Lamitak, and EDL, popular among HDB BTO kitchens.
  • Granite: Natural stone with strong durability, more variation in pattern, and the longest track record in Singapore kitchens.

A few factors shift the final figure on any kitchen build:

  • Cabinet front material: Laminate sits at the entry, plywood with finish lifts the mid-range, and solid surface anchors the premium tier.
  • Blum hardware specification: Mixed hardware costs less upfront, while a full Blum suite is the premium option for daily kitchen use.
  • Design complexity: Linear layouts run cheapest, while custom islands, multi-zone designs, and integrated appliance housing add to the build.
  • Property-specific access: High-rise condo installs carry lift and MCST logistics, while landed kitchens may need structural prep before carpentry begins.

Frequently Asked Questions About Kitchen Carpentry in Singapore

How do I choose a kitchen carpentry contractor in Singapore?

To find a reliable carpentry contractor, start with the people. Find out if the design, build, and installation will happen under one roof, or whether the carpentry gets subcontracted. Also, ask for the itemised quote, the portfolio, and the workshop visit. A firm confident in its work shares all three openly.

Why should I choose Classic Furniture for my kitchen carpentry?

Classic Furniture has built kitchens for more than 45,000 Singapore families since 1980. We run design, carpentry, and installation under one in-house team, and every cabinet is fabricated in our own Eunos factory and fitted with Blum hardware. This combination of trade depth and chain control makes us a compelling option for kitchen carpentry works.

What's the difference between bespoke and standard kitchen cabinets?

Bespoke cabinets are designed and built around your specific space, appliances, and storage habits. This means the carcasses will fit your wall to the millimetre and drawer heights match your contents.

Meanwhile, standard cabinets come in fixed sizes, which often leaves gaps and underused volumes. For Singapore flats, the bespoke route usually earns its cost back in usable storage.

How much does kitchen carpentry cost in Singapore?

Kitchen carpentry costs in Singapore depend on cabinet front material, the hardware specification, and the design complexity. As a rough gauge, they typically run $3,500 to $12,000 for HDB flats depending on size, $10,000 to $25,000 for condominiums, and $20,000 and above for landed homes.

How long does a kitchen carpentry project take?

HDB kitchens typically run four to six weeks from build to installation. Condo kitchens usually sit in a similar window, with extra time for MCST coordination. Meanwhile, landed kitchens run six to eight weeks, depending on scope. We confirm a precise timeline at consultation.

Do you offer custom design and carpentry together, or just carpentry?

We offer both, and we run them through the same in-house team. As part of our kitchen carpentry craftsmanship process, our designers will draw the kitchen, our carpenters build it in our Eunos factory, and our installers fit it on site. Nothing gets handed off, and design intent doesn’t get lost in translation.

Is Blum hardware worth the cost?

Blum hardware runs smoothly through years of daily use and holds up well in Singapore’s humidity. Blum hardware carries its own manufacturer warranty from the brand, subject to terms and conditions. Our own workmanship is covered for one year, adding to your kitchen carpentry value and longevity investment. Over the lifespan of the cabinets, the value shows up in daily usability.
